Great location, but not updated
This location is great. It's about a 5-10 min walk to the gondola, or there's a bus route right outside the front door of the condo. It's easy walking distance to any places to eat downtown as well. The bar has great cheap drinks and the service is great. However, if you're looking for comfy beds and updated rooms, ours was not. Not a big deal since we were really only in the room to sleep, but would have been nicer if the place was updated after 1990. Over, great location and service, but not the most comfortable condo I've stayed in.
My stay
The Condo was very nice, very clean and very welcoming. The beds were okay a little stiff. Showers were great always hot water and a nice water pressure. Kitchen was great perfect size nice appliances. Living room and dining room were also very nice.
Skiing in a snowsure area with good restaurants
Excellent condo (as in previous several years). Very comfortable, very well situated, excellent skiing.
The beds are beginning to need replacement.
Fantastic
We stayed at River Mountain Lodge for two weeks in Feb 2011.
The lodge is perfectly located one block away from main street so all of the restaurants/pubs are within walking distance. You can also ski down 4 o'clock run and it takes you straight to the door.
The staff at the front desk were really helpful with suggestions for places to stay and directions/times for getting to Vail/Keystone.
Overall a perfect place to stay and would definitely reccomend.
Underwhelmed: more like a dorm than a ski condo
The reviews on Tripadvisor.com led me to believe this was a ski-in/ski-out condo. In fact, it was more like a large apartment block. Although the staff was helpful and pleasant, and the location was good, it was not the bucolic experience alone with my family I was expecting. The building seemed wornout - the product of many stays by college students, and it was far from a mountain chalet. I was expecting a private entry to the condo, not an entrance into a hundred room apartment block. In retrospect, it was my own fault, and I didn't do my research. I trusted Tripadvisor.com too much, and didn't check the details. Nonetheless, I was disappointed.

increditable skiing
skiing was awesome, location of condo was great at the end of the day was able to ski right up to front door just had to cross the street. condo was average but most likely would stay there again. I will be coming back next year.
Convenient and cozy!
We were very pleased with our unit and its proximity to town and the gondola. My teenagers could stroll around town and it was an easy walk with skis to the gondola.
Unit had everything we needed!
good location tricky procedures.
The condo itself was great. Roomy and a good location. The only issues I had were the rather convoluted check-in procedures. I was expecting to just work with the front desk but instead found myself on a lord of the rings like quest to find keys, pay damage deposits etc.

Really good place to stay
This was the 2nd time we've stayed at the RML. The 2/2 condo we stayed in the 2nd time was a really neat townhome. I was pleasantly surprised at it's layout and enthralled about how super clean it was.
The resort itself is ideal for people wanting to ski and have a good time in town at a perfectly located property. The staff is super nice and the bar downstairs is perfect for a drink before you make the short walk to town (max 5 mins) There is a fireplace and drink prices that beat ANY price in Breckenridge.
The first time we were here in '07, we had said we'd stay at RML again and we sure did. It's easy, clean, has everything you'd need for a ski vacation; ski shop downstairs, restaurant on site, and most importantly, a liquor store adjacent to the lodge!
The only things I found room for improvement were: no spatula in kitchen ( :) ) and there was not a tv in the 2nd bedroom.
If you're looking for clean comfort and cool people, stay at RML. It doesn't have all the frills of a five star, but is a great 4 1/2 star. We hope to be back next time we ski Breckenridge!
Great Condo
Great condo... Seems like a second home... My wife and I had a great time. The condo was clean and well decorated. The pools and hot tub were perfect. Would highly recommend staying, and we will surely use it again.,
Great Rental
We met another couple from Seattle and had a wonderful time. Octoberfest was going on and the town really put on a great festival. The accomodations were within walking distance to the main street and the condo we stayed at was very clean and offered everything we needed. I would highly recommend this place.
