Better than expected - terrific
Condo was clean, beds were comfortable, plenty of room to not feel cramped. We will definitely rent this unit again. The only appliance that we thought could be updated was the stove.
Wonderful House
We spent a wonderful week at the Tyra II Chalet in Breckenridge Co. The
house was right across the street from the four o clock run ski lift, and at the end of the day we were able to ski right up to our room. When we got to the house everything was in order, and we were pleased to
learn that the pictures online matched the house. We'd definitely recommend this house. Enjoy.
Great family condo
We have stayed in this unit several times, the last being in Feb 2008. We like it because of the location, to ski in and out. The unit is in need if some upgrading an a good spring cleaning. It was clean, but could not pass a white glove inspection. Lots of dust up in those not easy to reach places around the TV and etc. It could have had a few more regular forfks, lots of salad forks, but we ran out of the regular size. Could not have asked for better service from the management company, Peaks. I requested a crock mpot and they had it there for me, whatever I needed they were right there. We appreciated having the plastic disc sleds there for the little ones and the plastic wrap and tin foil, we in turn left some of the basics that we had to buy.
We would go back again, just hope it had been spruced up some!
Breck accomodations
Tyra II was reasonably priced, well outfitted, and located reasonbly close to a ski run and lift. Also, right on the shuttle route. Parking at the complex was a problem. The plumbing was a bit noisy. All in all, the place met my expectations.
Got what we paid for but great location!
We reserved this rental because it was part of a special price to include lift
tickets and because we had 7 adults and didn't want anyone to sleep on the
pull out couch.
Upside: Great location! The very short walk (60 seconds IN ski boots) to
snowflake lift. Awesome to ski right into our parking lot off of 4 oclock run.
Downside: ALL beds were extremely uncomfortable!!! Extremely. I was
more sore from sleeping than I was from skiing. I started dreading going to
sleep. Our mattress was very thin and rock hard. I considered sleeping on
the floor. Humidifier didn't work, hair dryer didn't work. Clean but dingy, if
that makes sense, I think it is because it is an older unit.
Probably wouldn't stay here again, although the location was perfect.
One more thing: I asked breckenridge.com booking agency if I could rent
skis as close as possible to the Tyra. They said that they could book my
skis at Beaver Run, a short bus ride. WELL...there is a ski rental
(ResortQuest) IN the Tyra AND there is one across the street at the base of
the Snowflake Lift. Very disappointed.
Peak Propety Management Response:
Thanks for the reply to the survey. I will notify the owner of your feedback on the beds. Our maintenance staff will be notified of the cleaning comments and the need for a new hair dryer and humidifier.
WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY
1. The ad for the unit itself lies, there are only two bathrooms.
2. Parking was very awkward.
3. Water Heater didn't work, handyman didn't fix it, so we used
cold water from the sink. Agent gave a partial refund, but we
would have preferred the hot water. Others in the complex said
maintenance was poor.
4. Agent had confusing procedures.
Peak Propety Management Response:
Thanks for replying to our survey. Our records indicate that you stayed in our 3 bedroom + loft / 3 bath unit. Perhaps you did not visit the loft bedroom with the third bathroom.
Tyra II is a VERY tight parking area with very strict parking regulations since the property is ski-in/ski-out.
I remember that the entire building's hot water supply was out for your first night. I had hoped that the refund of 1 of your 3 nights was satisfactory (short of having a hot shower).
Finally, I am sorry if you were confused by any of our procedures. We sent our normal precise check-in directions to the head of your group. I wish those were shared so your experience would have turned out better.
